2 boats carrying 600 people went out to sea for a fish release ceremony conducted by His Holiness. After a vegetarian lunch, His Holiness, rinpoches and lamas went on board the boats carrying the fish, chanted prayers for them , and blessed them with holy saffron water before releasing them into the waters.

Gyalwa Karmapa visited Po Lin Monastery on Lantau island. Upon arrival, His Holiness went up at once to the Big Buddha and paid respects to the Buddha relic inside.

The Gala Dinner at the Grand Hyatt was the occasion of the inauguration of Infinite Compassion Foundation, founded by His Holiness Shamar Rinpoche, and fundraising for World Eye Organization for its eye clinic in Bhutan.
