His Holiness Gyalwa Karmapa Visits Malaysia for the Third Time

Kuala Lumpur, Audience

Arrival of the Gyalwa Karmapa in Malaysia and Manjushri Empowerment May 18th and 19th.

On the evening of May 18th, His Holiness Karmapa received a warm and cheerful welcome from the throngs of devotees assembled at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport to greet the Karmapa upon His arrival. His Eminence Beru Khyentse Rinpoche was there as well to welcome His Holiness.

The following morning, there was an official welcoming ceremony at the Karma Kagyu Dharma Society with the traditional offerings of body, speech and mind and long life prayers for the Gyalwa Karmapa and the Kunzig Shamarpa. Afterwards His Holiness Karmapa had a private audience with His Eminence Beru Khyentse Rinpoche and the sangha members of the Khyenkong Buddhist center before joining the monks and hundreds of devotees in the Mahakala Puja that afternoon.

By evening, the crowd had swollen and overflowed the beautifully decorated prayer hall of the Karma Kagyu Dharma Society Buddhist Center of Kuala Lumpur with devotees from over the world, who had gathered to receive the Manjushri Empowerment from His Holiness Karmapa. Before commencement of the ceremony and the preparations, His Holiness Karmapa gave a pithy and profound introduction explaining the meaning of blessing and how best to receive a blessing.
