On Friday, the 15th of August 2008, the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa Trinlay Thaye Dorje, accompanied by his brother Sonam Tsemo Rinpoche, Trehor Lama Thubten and an entourage of senior monks, arrived at the Bodhi Path centre Renchen-Ulm, Germany, where he was warmly welcomed. It was for the first time that the spiritual head of the Karma Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism paid a visit to the centre, which he immediately began with a short ceremony and a tour of the building, blessing all the rooms.

On the 6th of August His Holiness visited Karma Shedrub Tschoepel Ling, a quite new dharma center only 2 hours to drive from Kassel. Embed between fields and forests in a gentle hilly area, the dharma center in Moehra can be found on top of a hill

The last week of His Holiness’ summer tour 2007 in Europe started in Germany near Kassel. Since 1993, the annual summer course of the diamondway centers is held in a scout camp in Immenhausen. With the help of hundreds of hands from all over the world, the area was changed into a huge camp for Buddhist practitioners that could host more than 5000 people.
