First Annual Commemoration Ceremony for the Passing of His Holiness the 14th Shamarpa Mipham Chokyi Lodro

Commemoration ceremony of the passing of the 14th Shamar Rinpoche at Karmapa International Buddhist Institute.

According to the Tibetan calendar, the 31st May 2015 marks one year after the passing of Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche.

His Holiness the 17th Karmapa together with high Rinpoches, lamas, monks and venerable
guests presided over ceremonies marking the one-year anniversary.

 

The program on 31st June was as follows:
Formal placement of Shamar Rinpoche´s bone relics in KIBI´s shrine room
Recitation of auspicious prayers, followed by a one minute of silence, in memory of
Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche
Welcome speech by Professor. Sempa Dorje
Tribute to the life and activities of Shamar Rinpoche by Jigme Rinpoche, General
Secretary of Gyalwa Karmapa and brother of the late Shamarpa
Concluding Speech by H.H. the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa
High Tea with the venerable guests

Following days one week of ritual pujas was held at Karmapa International Buddhist Institute.
