Gyalwa Karmapa receives visitors from over the world in Hong Kong

Audience

Audiences Hong Kong. Gyalwa Karmapa receives visitors from over the world.

Throughout his two-week-long stay in Hong Kong His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa received countless visitors from different corners of the world: groups of practitioners from Asia and Europe, lamas and monks from Hong Kong, South East Asia and mainland China, and a large number of officials, VIPs and celebrities.

They all came to offer His Holiness their devotion and gratitude and receive his blessing and his instructions.

To those who do not have the opportunity to meet with him on a regular basis he gave the following advice:

I know that all of you have very busy schedules, but nevertheless, it’s always good to take some time to practice the Buddha dharma. Whatever form of Buddha dharma we’re doing, on the basis of a kind and generous and wise intention, whether we contemplate, meditate or recite the mantra, whatever we do, it’s virtuous. This is very important, because life just passes by very quickly. Ten, twenty years pass by just like that (snaps his fingers). So doing a little bit of practice every day is something that is maintainable, feasible. So this is what I would like to request from you – and in this way our connection, our bond is kept. This is my main responsibility. I will make wishes and aspirations for all of us to keep our connection – this is what I will do for my part, and if from your side you can do what I have just asked you to do then in this way our intention and mindset are the same, and then no matter the distance and time – they will not separate us.”

Words of Wisdom
So when we practice compassion, when we apply compassion in our daily lives, we really have to tell ourselves, “That’s me, that’s who I am. I cannot change that; no one can change that.
