His Holiness Karmapa Gives The Bodhisattva Vow at Kuala Lumpur

Karma Kagyu Dharma Society, Kuala Lumpur, Ceremony, Refuge and Bodhisattva Vow

On the evening of May 22nd, after spending the entire day giving private audiences to families and friends who have come from all over South East Asia to meet the Karmapa, His Holiness gave the Bodhisattva Vow to another packed hall at the Karma Kagyu Dharma Society, Kuala Lumpur.
The Karmapa began the evening’s ceremony with greetings in Malay as well as in Mandarin, before beginning with a explanation on the meaning of the Bodhisattva Vow. The Karmapa gave a discourse on the importance of having the proper mindset when taking the vow along with an explanation of the 6 perfections and how to achieve them. Again, these profound teachings were presented with an easy humorous tone by His Holiness, making the depth of the subject matter seem light and comfortable for the general audience assembled to receive the vow from His Holiness.
