Annual Karmapa Public Teaching Course at Karmapa International Buddhist Institute in New Delhi.

The Karmapa International Buddhist Institute hosted this year’s Karmapa public teaching course from 14th to 19th March.  For what has now become an annual event, the course offers a rich opportunity for students to study with His Holiness Thaye Dorje, the 17th Karmapa and other highly knowledgeable and eminent Kagyu teachers.

There were over 400 students in attendance for this year’s six day extensive program of Buddhist teachings.  Gyalwa Karmapa giving detailed explanations on the third chapter of Shantideva’s Way of a Bodhisattva. His Holiness also gave two empowerments; the long-life aspect of Amitayus and Manjushri and the embodiment of the enlightened wisdom of all Buddhas.

Thaye Dorje, the 17th Karmapa teached the Ways of a Bodhisattva to around 400 students at KIBI

Khenpo Chodrak Thenpel Rinpoche gave detailed teachings about the Karma Kagyu Lineage. Khenpo Jampal Tsultrim taught about the Tripitaka and Khenpo Tsering explained about the correct motivation to cultivate in the practice of Buddhism.  Professor Sempa Dorje hosted a question and answer session where students could receive explanations on any aspect of the Buddha’s teachings.
