Refuge ceremony for the young monks of Diwakar Buddhist Academy
On 28 November, 2015 Gyalwa Karmapa bestowed the refuge vow on more than forty young monks from Diwakar Buddhist Academy.
The monks are from various regions in the Himalayas: Nepal, Bhutan, Sikkim, Darjeeling and Kalimpong. They came to Karmapa International Buddhist Institute in New Delhi to repeat the refuge vow to Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, and to receive his blessing.
These young monks were about to start a five-year programme of monastic education at one of the branches of Diwakar Buddhist Academy in Telopure Monastery.
