- From January 11th to 14th, the Gyalwa Karmapa visited Karma Mingyur Ling, Montchardon, France.
- The time between February to June Gyalwa Karmapa spent in India, mainly in Kalimpong.
- In June he travelled to California, USA, to receive certain transmissions from Luding Khenchen Rinpoche.
- In July he gave his first public program in the USA.
- From beginning of August to end of September he was taught by Khenpo Chödrag Tenphel Rinpoche in California.
- From October 6th to 15th Gyalva Karmapa visited Bhutan.
- November 14 - 30: Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche gives the Kagyu Ngag Dzö transmissions in New Delhi, KIBI
- Vidyadhara Ceremony in KIBI on December 1st.
