On the evening of the 6th of June, His Holiness Trinley Thaye Dorje the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa paid a brief visit to Amden. Though the lack of time and sunlight prohibited the unparalleled scenic surroundings of this retreat center in the mountains of Switzerland to be fully enjoyed, there was still a glimpse of the beauty as the sun set that evening. There was a very warm welcome by all who had come together to greet His Holiness and receive blessings that summer night.

After being brought through the center to bless each room as well as the many statues and paintings in the Lhakang, His Holiness went outside to bless one of the several stupas that Lopon Tsechu Rinpoche had erected in the later years of his activity in Europe.

His Holiness was then treated to a lovely meal with all who were in attendance before his late evening departure to Zurich. Before leaving, Karmapa gave thanks and praise to all there. He offered his advice for the development of the Dharma activity and encouraged everyone to keep their bonds with their teachers and spiritual friends.
